How do I fix A Scratched Xbox 360 Disc?

Okay My man his friend gave him the New Call of duty world at war. The disk has a little ring on it on the bottom and when you play the campaign of the game it stops on when it's loading a mission and says unreadable disk error every time do you have advice on how to fix that?
