Men:- Do you spend a fortune on a first date?

From a females point of view I would say that it's not a good idea. It puts the wrong emphasis on the relationship right from the start. You're making it about money instead of just enjoying your time together and getting to know each other. I would be very uncomfortable with someone spending a lot of money on me during the first date. I would think he was trying to win me over by buying me. Keep it simple and use it as a time to get to know each other. That can be accomplished by a walk in the park, a picnic and many other countless ways. On the other hand don't be a cheapskate. If you do stop for a bite to eat or something offer to pay in a gentlemanly way. I think every women would appreciate this gesture.
